This place does NOT follow the revised guidlines for residents rights. It is a corrupt old folks prison. Locking up residents, who may need a degree of assisted living, still having been deemed capeable of making their own decisions, this facility strips the resident of ALL their human personal rights, prevents them from making or receiving phone calls or visits from loved ones under the guise of a fictitous POA. Alienates the resident from the resident's loved ones. LOVE is never harmful. The facility endeavors to erase a residents memory of their life pre residency .

I'm a well known outside care provider that has been seeing a resident for care there. And many more from our company. My last visit there I was chased down by the maintenance man (scott) harassing me about having to sign in prior to seeing my patient. He did this while I was in the middle of taking care of my patient. I told him that I would be signing in. Then minutes later. A nurse named Amanda came in to harass me also in regards to the same matter. And expected me to follow her. I was not going to be escorted and be harassed. She already knew I was talked to by Scott. So her reasons to come in after to harrass me was un called for! The caregivers that were present were surprised how they treated me. As I was also surprised on how they treated me. I had signed in and always do. I want this matter to be dealt with and I will take this further. Horrible way to represent your facility. I surely will spread this onto other outside providers. I would never recommend you to anyone after this. . I wish that they get fired. Makes me wonder who else they have treated this way. Time to evaluate them on there performance. There not representing your company in a good way.

In July, I unexpectedly was thrown into the world of memory care assisted living, and for those people who have had to experience this, it can be greatly overwhelming from the hospital to the behavioral health center to finding a safe reliable memory care assisted living facility that actually had an opening. Luckily, we found Pacifica Senior Living Paradise Valley and was able to place our loved one here. We have been with Pacifica Senior Living for three months now. They have been and are still fabulous. Everyone we have been in contact with from Admin, Nursing, caretakers, maintenance, and front office are always pleasant. They meet our current needs and have demonstrated they truly care about their residents and the family of the residents. Truly a 5-star facility.

Warning, I would not do business with this location. My mom was a resident there due to some complicated elder abuse issues I had to become my mother's Guardian/conservator. Because of this it required me to complete documents with the court pertaining to her care, a lot of these documents had to completed by the doctors and staff at the care facility. Last year I had requested the documentation from them and called them multiple times requesting that they complete it because I had to get this done for the court and multiple times (over 15) they ignored my request. It was so bad that the attorney we had hired withdrew himself from the case because we could not get the documentation from the facility. This cost us 1000's of extra dollars because we had to hire a new attorney with a new retainer and all. It also got me in trouble with the court because it was a required yearly document. Finally, after almost a full year after initially requesting the documentation, my sister was able to get it from them. My siblings told me to let it go because the nursing staff and her care was good, which I did. Sadly, about a month ago my mother passed away literally 2 days after the care facility charged us the full month when my mother had died on the 3rd of the month. We inquired about this, and the director told us that normally takes a month for a refund to be resolved but given the circumstances with the court she would see what she could do, and we could expect to hear from her within 7-10 days. Two weeks went by, and we heard nothing I placed a call asking for a return call checking on the status as we were trying to avoid this going into the next year’s accounting which would cost us $1000’s more in attorney fees three phone calls made not one return call. Then I spoke with the person in the office who was “in charge of the financials” I explained that we had spoken with the director, and she said she would check on this and we would hear something from her within 7-10 days and we had heard nothing. The lady had the audacity to say, “Well that’s a lie.” I told her it was not and that was what we were told. An argument ensued with her constantly talking over me, telling me I did not know what I was talking about and being very rude. Multiple time I requested to speak with the director to which she refused and then hung up on me. I called back the same “finance person” answered I requested the number of the corporate office which she refused and hung up on me again. I called back a third time the reception answered I asked for the number for corporate which she started giving me until I could hear the “finance” lady tell her to hang up on me. I emailed the director requesting that she personally call me, and she did not even do the courtesy of a phone call she emailed back and played it off like it was no big deal and gave me no resolution. This place has zero organization, zero communication skills and zero empathy. I would be very wary to place any loved one there especially given the fact that is expensive. The only reason I gave it two stars and not one is the nursing staff is attentive and they physically took good care of her.

We chose this place due to the fact that it allowed an individual to get outside. We thought the courtyard idea allowed our loved one more freedom to move about without being confined. While I am mostly satisfied with the care, I am unhappy about not getting calls or emails returned to me from the resident care director or the administrator when I contact them.
